"My Great Aunt, Ella Mae Howard, gave me the last quilt-top pieced by my Great Grandmother in 1952. She passed away in August of the same year at the age of 86. I never knew my grandmothers, but I remember Granny Howard ~ she pieced me a doll quilt. I was seven years old when she died." said Barbara Holman, "The pattern is simple, but pretty, containing some scraps of her dresses. As far as I can find out, the name of the pattern is 'Arkansas Snowflake.' I figured it was 'The Last of the Scraps' but I ran across the pattern in a photo on a barn and it was called that. My mother and I quilted the quilt."

Granny's Flower Garden - 852 Old Kentucky Road (36.053030, -85.517172)
Granny's Flower Garden:
"We wanted to paint a quilt in memory of our Mother and Grandmother. She only quilted for necessity and they were not fancy quilts, but she loved her flowers and had them everywhere. We are calling our quilt 'Granny's Flower Garden' in memory of Granny, 'Auda Pistole Howard.'"
