Choosing a pattern made by the owner’s grandmother, the owners are very interested in the rich heritage and history of this land they purchased in 2006 on the Bon Air Mountain, east of the Sparta city limits.

August 6, 1836 – from the State of Tennessee to Thomas Eastland; 1895 from State of Tennessee to Bonds / Eastland; 1898 Bonds to Bon Air Coal and & Iron Corp. to NY Trust Company; 1906 from NY Trust Company to Van Buren Coal and Lumber; Nov. 14, 1918 from Van Buren Coal and Lumber to J.A. Welch (house built in 1935); Jan. 27, 1942 from JA Welch and wife Martha J to Kenneth V. Welch and wife Beulah ; Kenneth added more acreage to the land - Oct. 25, 1945 JJ Bryan and wife Merle Ross Welch Bryan to Kenneth V. Welch; Oct. 1, 1947 Kenneth V. to JA Welch, with Houston Payne and wife; Nov. 24, 1947 from JA Welch to Kenneth V. Welch; May 31, 1951 Kenneth V Welch to Joe and Hassie Hickey (barn built in 1960); Feb.  13, 1987 land willed to Hassie Hickey; Jan. 4, 1988 from Hassie M. Hickey to John J. and Kathleen Brown (garage built in 1990); Feb. 23, 2006 from John J and Kathleen Brown to Dave and Mary Ellen Fresh (addition to old barn in 2007, hay barn built 2010,quilt block installed on barn in 2010)
